ANGLE has announced the appointment of Dr Stephen Bence to the UK Ventures team as associate director with immediate effect. Dr Bence joins Stephen Bates, who is director of UK Ventures and will operate from new offices based in Cambridge. Bence was previously chief operating officer of Splashpower Ltd, a technology start up company based in Cambridge. He was responsible for strategy and internal operations, culminating in the raising of $5.4m of venture funding. Before joining Splashpower, he held a senior position at international consultancy McKinsey & Company, where he spent six years serving numerous technology and industrial clients on issues such as corporate strategy, corporate finance, and marketing. Bence holds a PhD in physics and an MA in natural sciences from the University of Cambridge.
