F&C to enter fund-of-funds market

F&C Asset Management has acquired Martin Currie Investment Management's private equity funds unit. The move is a strategic entry into the higher margins of the private equity fund-of-funds business. The investment team will be headed by Hamish Mair and based in F&C's Edinburgh office.
