Hermes has made two further appointments to help develop its private equity business. Gillian Brown has joined as a director of its fund team while Shane Feeney has joined as an investment director of its direct investment team.Brown joins Hermes from Merrill Lynch Investment Managers where she was a director of MLIM Private Equity Partners. Prior to that she was a senior investment consultant with William M Mercer for six years, advising UK and Australian pension funds. She has also spent seven years with the Greater Manchester Pension Fund where she had day-to-day responsibility for their private equity investment programme.Feeney began his career at CSL Equity Investments in Canada before moving on to join CIBC Wood Bundy's M&A team in Toronto. He joins Hermes after five years at Morgan Grenfell Private Equity where he was involved in several large buyout transactions
