Andrew Cavaghan started work as an investment manager with Octopus Asset Management on 28th October 2004. This follows almost three years managing generalist venture capital fund, London Seed Capital, on behalf of GLE. At Octopus he will work within the team responsible for managing the Eclipse VCT alongside Chris Allner (previously ProVen, NatWest and 3i) and Joseph Bergin (ex-3i). Eclipse was launched in May 2004 and has now raised over £23m. Eclipse is seeking to lead, or participate in, deals with an equity requirement of up to £3-4m. The emphasis of the fund is on later stage, profitable companies, and MBO/MBIs, although special situations will also be considered.
