Martin Currie Capital Return Trust shareholders approve reconstitution
Shareholders in Martin Currie Capital Return Trust (MCCRT), the £158m private equity fund-of-funds managed by Martin Currie, have approved proposals for the trust’s reconstruction. From a vehicle that returns capital to its shareholders, these proposals convert a substantial proportion of the trust to a continuing and evergreen private equity fund-of-funds. The continuation pool created will have initial net assets of over £50m. Managers represented in the trust include Candover, Alta Berkeley and Scottish Equity Partners. The trust has recorded a NAV total return of 35.3% since its launch in March 1999 to August 2001.
