Merrill Lynch has recuited Joost Scholten to head up its investment banking in the Benelux region. Scholten will be based in Amsterdam and London in this newly created role and report to Philip Yates, head of corporate banking for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Scholten was a co-founder of INNoCap in 1997, with backing from NIB Capital, and ran the firm for six years. Prior to InnoCap, he was a managing director at Citigroup, where he worked on the origination of corporate finance transactions.
