Debevoise promotes Smith to partner

Legal firm Debevoise & Plimpton has promoted senior associate Thomas Smith to partner in its London office.
Smith works in the corporate, finance and private equity departments, specialising in acquisitions and debt transactions including syndicated bank loans and high-yield bonds.
Prior to joining Debevoise, Smith spent two years with Norton Rose Fulbright, leaving his role as associate in May 2006.
The promotion comes a year after Debevoise promoted two other private equity specialists, Sally Gibson and Richard Lawton, to partner in its London office.
