Equistone director Silvester retires
Steven Silvester, a director at UK buyout house Equistone Partners Europe, has retired after 19 years of employment at the firm.
Silvester joined the London-based Equistone team – formerly known as Barclays Private Equity – in 1997 from BZW Corporate Finance.
In his career at Equistone, Silvester has been part of a number of companies' management boards as non-executive director and participated in several transactions, including with clothing and fashion retailers Scala Collections, Hobbs and Kurt Geiger, as well as financial businesses Clydesdale and Jerrold Holdings.
More recently, Silvester led the process for the trade sale of The Mill to Technicolor for £190m. The deal resulted in a return in excess of 2x for Equistone.
According to a source familiar with the situation, Equistone does not intend to replace Silvester.
