Coller reshuffles management in wake of Burdel departure
Coller Capitalтs London-based investment partner Sebastien Burdel is to step down after 13 years with the firm.
Burdel joined Coller in 2003 and moved to the company's New York office three years later. He returned to the London office in 2015.
The firm has also promoted partners Michael Schad to head of investment management and Francois Aguerre to co-head of origination – two new positions at Coller.
Schad joined Coller in 2005 and is promoted from his role as partner for origination and execution, while Aguerre joined Coller in 2007.
The firm has seen numerous changes to its senior management team in recent months. In February, CEO Tim Jones unexpectedly stepped down from his role citing "compelling personal reasons".
A week later New York-based fundraising partner Ashley Johansen left the firm. According to a source close to the situation at the time, Johansen's exit was motivated by the company's decision not to fundraise for some time following the close of its latest fund.
Since then, former Doughty Hanson CEO Stephen Marquardt has joined the firm as partner and co-head of investor relations and fundraising.
Coller's seventh fund reached a final close on $7.15bn in December 2015. The vehicle pursues the same strategy as its predecessor, CIP VI, targeting secondary transactions globally. The GP will invest in assets in the $1m-1bn bracket.
