PE firm Tenzing adds Ian Armitage to board
UK lower-mid-market investor Tenzing Private Equity has appointed HgCapital founder Ian Armitage as a non-executive board member.
Industry veteran Armitage was previously co-founder, CEO and chair of HgCapital, at which he had worked for close to 24 years. Armitage also worked at 3i earlier on in his career and more recently was also a board member of trade body BVCA.
Earlier this year, Tenzing hired Inflexion's Christian Hamilton as co-managing partner.
Founded in 2015, Tenzing focuses on buyouts for high-growth businesses in the UK lower-mid-market, deploying £5-15m per transaction. Its team now counts four partners with Hamilton adding to Guy Gillon (who founded the business), Rob Jones and Ian Coghlan.
In parallel to Armitage's appointment, Tenzing also announced its latest deal: the firm acquired FMP Global, the payroll division of Bond International Software, for £30m. The acquisition is expected to complete on 19 August. Recent deals also include Fleetway, when the GP teamed up with Synova Capital to acquire the online travel platform in a deal thought to be worth up to £30m.
