NorthEdge promotes Pickering to head of Manchester office
North-of-England-focused GP NorthEdge Capital has promoted Jon Pickering to head of its Manchester office.
In his new role, Pickering will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s investment operations across the north-west. He will work alongside partner and head of new business Ray Stenton and lead the six-person new-business team in Manchester.
Pickering is promoted from his role as director, having joined the GP in 2013. Prior to NorthEdge he spent five years at LDC, where he was promoted from investment manager to investment director in 2011.
The latest promotion comes shortly after NorthEdge appointed Clearwater Corporate Finance’s James Hales as head of origination in its newly formed deal origination team.
During his time at NorthEdge, Pickering has led seven deals, most recently overseeing the management buyout of food transportation business Abbey Logistics Group from its founders in August 2016. Other deals include the MBO of data-management software company Utiligroup, and an investment in door manufacturer Solidor.
NorthEdge has begun investing from its second fund, which closed on its £300m hard-cap in March 2016 after just four months on the road.
