Maven appoints four to its north west team
Maven Capital Partners has hired Martin Clark, Jeremy Thompson and James Darlington as investment managers and Nikola Clarke as portfolio administrator to its north west investment team.
The new recruits will be responsible for supporting investment from NPIF Maven Equity Finance, a £57m vehicle and part of the British government's Northern Power House Investment Fund, for which Maven was given the management mandate in February 2017.
Clark will be responsible for the Manchester and Lancashire areas. Prior to joining, he worked at Access 2 Finance as a specialist adviser between 2013-2015. Before his stint at Access 2 Finance, he worked at ABN Amro between 2008-2013 as a business development manager. He has also previously worked at Cattles Invoice Finance, Quantiv and NatWest Bank.
Thompson joins the GP from Squire Patton Boggs, leaving his role as senior associate after four years at the legal firm. He also holds experience from Nabarro, where he worked between 2009-2013 graduating from trainee to associate.
Darlington leaves his role at EY, where he held many positions over a six-year period, including corporate finance executive and associate.
Clarke joins from Enterprise Ventures, where she worked as fund administrator between 2011-2017, providing administrative support for mezzanine investments. Before that, she worked at Capita Financial as a corporate actions analyst between 2009-2011. She also holds experience from TD Waterhouse, BNY Mellon and CIS Insurance.
