
Graphite hires five, promotes three
UK mid-market private equity firm Graphite Capital has promoted Mike Innes, Liam McGivern and Denise Bartolo, and hired John Western, Tony Saade, Neel Popat, Lara Markham and Sophie Davies.
Mike Innes joined Graphite in 2005; he previously held the position of senior partner and now joins the firm's management board. Prior to joining, he worked at Bank of Scotland between 2001-2005 as a director and at Clifford Chance between 1995-1999 as a solicitor.
Liam McGivern has been promoted to investment director. He joined Graphite in 2014 as an investment manager and was involved in number of transactions in the services sector. Previously he worked at Prudential Capital Group between 2013-2014 as an investment professional. He also has experience from Deloitte between 2009-2012.
Newly promoted to director of investor relations, Denise Bartolo joined Graphite in 2008 and worked in portfolio management before moving on to investor relations. Before Graphite, he worked at PwC between 2001-2008.
John Western joins Graphite as an investment manager from Jefferies, where he worked between 2010-2016 as an associate.
Tony Saade also joins the firm as an investment manager. Prior to Graphite, he held the position of investment professional focused on the consumer and business services sectors at Duke Street between 2014-2016. Before that, he worked at Roland Berger between 2009-2012 as a consultant.
Neel Popat joins from European Capital where he worked between 2013-2017. Before that, he worked at Rothschild's London office as an analyst between 2011-2013. He will work as an investment manager at Graphite.
Lara Markham joined Graphite in March as an investment executive. She previously worked at OC&C Strategy Consultants, where she held the position of consultant across the consumer, business services and TMT sectors.
Sophie Davies was hired as an investment executive. Before that, she worked at Goldman Sachs between 2011-2017. She also holds experience from Deloitte between 2007-2011.
