Kirkland hires Damodaran from Ropes & Gray
Kirkland & Ellis has hired former Ropes & Gray fund formation lawyer Anand Damodaran as a partner in its investment funds group in London.
In his new role, Damodaran will be advising clients on the formation of private equity, credit and real estate funds. He will also advise PE clients on carried interest, co-investment schemes, secondaries and strategic fund sponsor transactions.
Prior to joining Kirkland, Damodaran was a partner at Ropes & Gray, where he worked for five and a half years. Damodaran worked in the private investment funds group on the establishment of a broad range of funds.
Earlier in his career, Damodaran worked for both White & Case and Clifford Chance as a solicitor.
Damodaran is the sixth partner Kirkland has hired from Ropes & Gray this month. Five partners from Ropes & Gray's international investigations and enforcement team made the move earlier in August.
