Osborne Clarke poaches Squire Patton Boggs PE head

Osborne Clarke has hired Squire Patton Boggs' head of private equity, Tim Hewens, as partner in its London-based private equity team.
Hewens will be responsible for private equity transactions, acting on behalf of PE funds, management teams, and sellers in transactions where the buyers are PE houses.
His PE clients at Osborne Clarke include Growth Capital Partners, Inflexion Private Equity, Mobeus Equity Partners and Tenzing Private Equity.
Prior to joining Osborne Clarke, Hewens was head of PE at Squire Patton Boggs, where he worked for more than 16 years. He started his career at Morgan Cole as a solicitor focusing on corporate finance.
Osborne Clarke's PE team now consists of 11 professionals, up from five two years ago. It also hired Simon Jones as venture partner and Helen Parsonage as PE fund formation partner earlier this year.
The firm says the practice has seen revenues nearly quadruple over the last five years.
