LDC promotes two, hires one
Mid-market private equity firm LDC has announced the promotion of Chris Wright to director and Richard Whitwell to head of the East Midlands, and hired Lawrence Dean from Stage Capital.
The GP simultaneously announced that director Steve Aston will move from Birmingham to join the firm's London team, with a focus on industrials.
Wright will perform his new role from LDC's Reading office. Prior to joining LDC in 2013, Wright was an investment banker at Rothschild, where he focused on mid-market transactions.
Whitwell moves from Birmingham to Nottingham, where he will be head of the East Midlands. Prior to joining LDC, he was a partner at private equity fundraising consultant Senn.
Dean will join the Birmingham team as investment director in mid-January. At Stage Capital he was focused on the firm's UK buyout portfolio.
LDC said the changes will help the firm to deliver on its commitment to invest £1.2bn in UK SMEs over the next three years, which is a key part of Lloyds Banking Group's plan to support UK business.
