Foresight appoints Haywood as investment manager
Foresight Group has appointed Tom Haywood, formerly of EcoMachines Ventures, as an investment manager in its private equity team.
In his new role, Haywood will focus on early-stage investments from the Foresight William Technology EIS fund, in addition to supporting activity on additional Foresight funds.
Haywood left his role as investment manager at EcoMachines in March 2016 and has since co-founded biotech company Puridify (subsequently sold to GE Healthcare), and worked as a business development manager in the connected cars division at telecommunications company O2.
During his time at EcoMachines, Haywood led and evaluated deals across Europe in early-stage companies operating in the energy, transport and industrial high-tech spaces.
Foresight William Technology EIS made its maiden investment in September, injecting £500,000 into Southampton-based gas distribution optimisation software company Utonomy.
