Downing hires seven for investment team
UK-based investment manager Downing has expanded its investment team with the hires of Evangelos Tsesmelidakis, Ana Knight, Amar Amin, Jonathan Lloyd-Evans, Daniel Cheung, Michael Joseph and Hannah Kenny.
In its energy investment team, Downing hired three new people, including Evangelos Tsesmelidakis, who joined the firm as investment director. Prior to joining, he worked at WHEB Infrastructure Partners as an investment manager in 2015 for a fixed-term contract. He also holds experience from Capital Dynamics, where he worked as an associate between 2013-2015, and at Thurlestone Capital between 2011-2012. Before Thurlestone, he worked at Deutsche Bank's New York and London office between 2007-2010 as an associate.
Ana Knight joins the energy team as technical asset manager. Prior to joining, she worked at PS Renewables between 2011-2017 as technical director, and at KN Group as design engineer between 2010-2011.
Amar Amin is the third new member to the energy team, joining as an investment executive. Previously he worked at Sundrop Farms between 2016-2017, working on corporate finance and business development activities. He also worked at Grant Thornton UK as assistant manager and at Mott MacDonald as consultant between 2011-2016.
Elsewhere in the business, Downing hired three investment executives for its property sector team. Jonathan Lloyd-Evans joins from PwC, where he worked between 2013-2017 as a senior associate in transactional services. Daniel Cheung joins the firm from Arma Partners, where he worked between 2016-2017 in the M&A advisory team. Cheung also has experience from European Capital working on buyouts in the UK mid-cap consumer, business services and technology & software sectors. Finally, Michael Joseph joins the firm from PwC, where he worked on corporate finance and assurance M&A advisory between 2012-2017.
Downing also hired Hannah Kenny for its lending team, where she will work on the deployment of the firm's Downing Development Finance Bond. She joins from Funding Circle UK, where she worked between 2016-2017 as a real estate support specialist.
