Mobeus sells Hemmels stake to private investor
Mobeus Equity Partners has sold its stake in classic car restoration company Hemmels to a private investor six months after its initial investment, according to reports.
The GP's initial investment in April this year was made via its VCTs. The original deal value was not disclosed, though at the time Unquote understood its stake was worth less than £5m.
The original expansion round was earmarked for scaling up the company's engineering activities, investing in research and development, and ramping up its marketing capabilities.
Cardiff-headquartered Hemmels restores and sells post-war Mercedes-Benz sport cars. The models it has worked on to date are the 190SL, 280SL Pagoda, 300SL Gullwing and the Roadster.
A spokesperson for Mobeus declined to comment on the reports.
