Railpen names private markets investment director
RPMI Railpen, the British railway workers' pension fund manager, has appointed Andrea Ash to serve as investment director within the private markets team, effective from 26 November 2018.
In her new role, Ash will focus on growth investments. She will report to the head of private markets, Paul Bishop, and work alongside investment director Richard Moon. Prior to Railpen, Ash served as alternatives fund manager at Tesco Pension Investments. Prior to that, she worked for Amundi Asset Management and Pioneer Investments.
Railpen, the investment manager for the £28bn Railways Pension Scheme, recently appointed Ted Jennings as senior investment manager in its private markets team. The private market team focuses on illiquid investments across private equity, private debt and infrastructure, investing in sets of buyout and private lending.
RPMI Railpen has recently announced its commitment to Capital Constellation, a joint-venture vehicle providing initial capital to emerging private equity and alternative managers. The joint venture is between the Public Institution for Social Security of Kuwait, Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation, and RPMI Railpen, and it is advised by Wafra Investment Advisory Group.
Other recent commitments also include £25m to Palatine Private Equity Impact Investing Fund, and £20m to Limerston Capital Partners I.
