Inflexion opens Boston office
Inflexion Private Equity has opened an office in Boston to support portfolio companies' expansion plans in the US market.
The firm has hired Noble Rock Advisors founder Whitney Bower, formerly of BC Partners, Hg and 3i, as a senior adviser to lead the office.
The GP is the second prominent UK mid-market player to choose Boston as its US base, after Livingbridge opened an office in the city in 2017. Synova Capital selected New York as its base to support portfolio companies' US expansion plans in 2017.
Inflexion saw the first expansion of one of its portfolio companies into the US in 2004, according to a statement. Bolt-on transactions since then have included Halo Technology's acquisition of Add-On Computer Peripherals, Kynetec's acquisition of Market Probe and CloserStill's acquisitions of a number of US-based conferences.
The GP is currently deploying capital from its fifth flagship fund, which held a final close on £1.25bn in May 2018.
