
Baird promotes three to managing director
Baird has promoted three to the position of managing director in its London-based investment banking team.
Alex Ballantine has been promoted from the position of director in the global industrial team, while Martin Luen and John Sun have been promoted from their director positions in the global technology and services team.
Ballantine originally joined Baird five and a half years ago, prior to which he spent three years at Canaccord Genuity. He left his position as vice-president at Canaccord in 2013 having previously spent four years on the technology, media and telecommunications corporate finance team at ING.
Prior to joining Baird six years ago, Luen spent eight and a half years at Hawkpoint, leaving his position as director in 2013. He also previously spent two years working as a chartered accountant and manager at Deloitte.
Sun joined Baird as an investment banking associate in 2010, before being promoted to vice-president in 2012 and director in 2015. Before joining the firm he spent two years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and two years at National Bank Financial Group (then known as Wellington West Capital Markets).
