OpCapita hires new operating partner

Special situations investor OpCapita has hired Frank Maassen as its newest operating partner.
Maassen will start in his new role on 2 September 2019. He has previous experience in private equity, having formed Sun Capital Partners' operations team in Europe and served as an operating partner until 2013. Prior to that, he spent nearly 10 years at Huennebeck Group, a German-headquartered building equipment supplier, first as CEO of the French business and subsequently as group CEO.
Maassen has worked with OpCapita previously, having served as CEO of former portfolio company BUT, a French furniture and electricals retailer, between 2013-2018.
OpCapita is currently investing its Consumer Opportunities Fund II, which closed on its €350m hard-cap last year.
