
Arma appoints JP Morgan's Spahr van der Hoek

Technology-focused corporate finance house Arma Partners has appointed JP Morgan's Broor Spahr van der Hoek as partner and co-head of its private and growth capital team in its London office.
Spahr van der Hoek leaves his role as head of private placements and growth capital at JP Morgan, where he worked on transactions for firms including Yandex, Rocket Internet, Pension Insurance Corporation, Uber and Auto1.
In his new role, he will work alongside Simon Carmichael in leading the private and growth capital team and will oversee deal origination and execution.
The appointment is intended to develop a network in segments including Internet-of-Things, artificial intelligence, machine learning, 3D printing and digital health that are not yet highly active in terms of M&A activity.
According to a statement issued by Arma, the firm has reached its highest ever level of activity since the beginning of 2018, advising on 30 transactions valued at around $12bn during the timeframe.
