VGC appoints Marlin's Lister

UK growth capital firm VGC Partners has appointed Marlin Equity Partners' Andrew Lister as investment and portfolio director.
In his new position, Lister will be responsible for carrying out investment diligence activities and sourcing potential transactions. He will also work alongside the portfolio management team in seeking to monitor and improve operational performance at portfolio companies.
Lister leaves his role as portfolio manager at Marlin after three years with the firm. Prior to joining Marlin, he spent 10 years at KPMG and left his position as associate director in the turnaround and restructuring advisory team in 2015.
VGC is currently deploying capital from £50m vehicle VGC Member II, which targets £2-5m minority stakes in companies with enterprise values of £10-25m. The fund invests in the consumer, media and technology sectors. It made its maiden investment in March 2019, with a £2m growth capital investment in sportswear retailer and gym operator WIT Fitness.
