Brexit top concern for high-growth businesses, says survey
ECI Partners has released it 10th annual survey of 307 CEOs of high-growth, UK-based companies.
Findings include 80% of businesses surveyed say domestic political uncertainty is their largest concern, up from 32% in 2016; however, over the long term, only 25% said it was a primary concern over the next 5-10 years.
Almost half of the respondents said they plan to open new offices or move their headquarters, with preferred destinations including London, the US, Singapore, the Netherlands and Ireland.
CEOs also said their companies were at risk of skills shortages, with nearly two thirds of respondents citing this as a concern, with cybersecurity also mentioned.
However, 81% of respondents said they expected double-digit sales growth, up from 60% in 2011. Companies are also confident in their access to finance, with 70% of CEOs expecting it will be easy or very easy to access finance in the coming year, up from 42% in 2010.
