University of Reading targets PE exposure
University of Reading has launched a request for proposals (RFP) searching for an investment manager for its endowment funds, with expertise to expand exposure into private equity, among other asset classes.
The university seeks an investment firm to manage its £122.8m endowment portfolios, which are mainly invested in equities and bonds.
However, the LP is interested in a bidder with capacity and expertise to expand the remit if required to include other classes of asset, including private equity and infrastructure, according to the tender seen by Unquote.
The tender also reveals that the capability to provide investment advice on a wider portfolio of assets will carry a 10% weighting of the overall final scoring, as the university places additional value on these investment adviser services.
The five-year contract is expected to start in January 2020, with an option to extend for five more years.
Deadline for proposals is on 26 September.
