BVCA's Tim Hames joins FTI Consulting

Global advisory firm FTI Consulting has appointed a former director general of UK trade body British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA), Tim Hames, as a senior adviser.
Hames will assume his new, full-time role on 2 December this year. He will be part of FTI's strategic communications segment, based in London, and will collaborate with professionals across FTI to provide clients with strategic advice and advocacy on issues impacting their businesses, with a focus on the PE/VC industry.
Hames was previously director general at BVCA, a role he had held since 2013. He was recently replaced by former cabinet minister Michael Moore.
Prior to becoming director general, Hames held other roles at BVCA, including head of policy and director of public affairs. He has also been a special adviser to the Speaker of the House of Commons, an assistant editor and leader writer at the Times, and a lecturer in politics at Oxford University.
