Stephane Etroy joins Ares as head of European PE
Stephane Etroy is to join Ares Capital as partner and head of European private equity, effective from 6 February 2020.
Etroy will be based in London, and will additionally focus on the firm's credit and real estate platforms.
Prior to joining Ares, Etroy was executive vice-president and head of private equity at Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ) in London. He joined in 2015 as senior vice-president, co-head of direct investments and head of Europe private equity and was promoted in 2017.
Prior to joining CDPQ, Etroy spent 13 years at Charterhouse Capital. He joined as an investment manager in 2002 and was promoted to partner in 2005. Etroy also has experience as an associate at Morgan Stanley Capital Partners.
