Morgan Lewis poaches funds team from Morrison & Foerster
Law firm Morgan Lewis has added a four-lawyer funds team to its London office, including new partners Oliver Rochman and Rob Mailer.
Rochman and Mailer are joined by two associates, Eliska Macnerova and Xun Choong. All are joining directly from competitor Morrison & Foerster.
They will join the firm's investment management team, which now comprises six partners in London.
Rochman advises both sponsors and investors on private investment funds, in particular private equity funds, private debt funds, funds-of-funds and venture capital funds. His counseling areas include management matters, carried interest arrangements, co-investment schemes, fund restructuring and secondary transactions.
Mailer focuses on private investment fund formation and fundraising. He particularly focuses on clients investing in new technologies such as artificial intelligence and fintech, and has experience advising teams on spinouts, new fund management companies, and defaulting investors, as well as other ongoing and end-of-life fund issues.
In addition to fund formation, the team will also provide institutional investor representation in London.
