LDC in exclusive talks to acquire Excell – report
LDC is in exclusive talks to acquire unified communications group Excell, according to a report by Unquote sister publication Mergermarket.
LDC has been showing interest in unified communications and other computer services companies. In July 2020, the GP backed the £30m merger of IT firms DoubleEdge Professional Services, Foehn and Metaphor IT, the first two of which are specialised in unified communications. It is unclear where LDC will look to merge Excell with the newly created Kerv in the future.
Excell Group provides bespoke managed communication services primarily for clients in the UK, with offices in London, Cambridge, the Midlands and the South East. It is controlled by chairman Darren Strowger. The company started as a family-run business in 1992.
The business makes around £7m in EBITDA, up from £5.16m in the year to 30 April 2019. It generated a turnover of £36.77m for the same year.
