Dawn hires Kainz as vice-president
Dawn Capital has hired Julie Kainz as vice-president.
Kainz joined the firm in December 2020, covering early-stage software-as-a-service investments across DACH and France. She was previously at Salesforce Ventures – the strategic venture capital arm of Salesforce – and at Founders Factory, where she built the firm's sourcing strategy and corporate engagement programme.
In addition to Kainz, the firm has also hired Avalon Lee-Bacon as head of talent. She will be responsible for building Dawn's talent platform, supporting portfolio companies with senior hires, and sharing best practice. Alix Fawcett has also joined Dawn's marketing team and will focus on delivering communication and activities to support brand development and relationship building with founders and investors.
During 2020, Dawn welcomed nine new joiners to its team; raised its fourth flagship fund, Dawn Capital IV, which closed on $400m; and made five new investments.
