Angel Investment Network launches institutional division
Angel Investment Network has announced the launch of its institutional investment arm, AIV Capital, which will focus on private equity and venture capital.
The new division is to be headed by Ethan Khatri, who has joined the firm. Prior to this, he spent 10 years at India-headquartered Fulcrum Private Equity, most recently as a partner.
The strategy will invest USD 10m-75m in growth capital at stages ranging from Series B to pre-IPO rounds. The GP can provide primary and secondary capital and will invest on a sector-agnostic basis.
According to its website, AIV invests via single-asset investment vehicles on behalf of its clients.
Angel Investor Network was founded in 2005 by Mike Lebys. The firm operates an evergreen investment strategy, pooling capital from angel investors with the aim of democratising participation in private equity and venture capital. Its investments range from GBP 100,000 to GBP 1m and the firm has backed companies including geocoding system What3Words and mattress company Simba.
The team behind AIV Capital has made 26 private equity investments and 12 exits to date, according to a statement.
