YFM appoints Marcus Karia as CFO

UK private equity house YFM Equity Partners has hired Marcus Karia as partner and CFO.
Karia will work across YFM's offices in London, Leeds, Manchester, Reading and Birmingham. He was most recently group finance director of London-listed venture capital firm Arix Bioscience, dealing with all aspects of its operations and overseeing finance, portfolio monitoring and analysis, and IT. Having joined the company soon after it was founded in 2016, Karia led the development of the group's operations, including its IPO.
Prior to that, Karia held roles across the fund management industry, including with Bridges Fund Management and with LDC.
YFM closed its most recent fund, YFM Equity Partners Buyout Fund II, on GBP 80m in March 2020. The firm has scored two strong exits this year, first selling a minority stake in Manchester-based cloud and contact centre communications business FourNet to Palatine Private Equity, which generated a return of 6x for YFM. It then sold its shareholding in cybersecurity business Deep Secure to US-based Forcepoint Federal, scoring a 6.5x return.
