Dawn Capital makes series of promotions and hires
Dawn Capital has announced a series of promotions and hires, including the promotion of Henry Mason to partner, marking the B2B software-focused VC's fourth internal partner promotion to date.
Mason joined Dawn as a principal in December 2016. He focuses on cybersecurity and data lifecycle investments and has led deals including for Vulcan, Harbr, Quantexa, Onna, Element and Garrison, in all of which he holds a board position.
In addition, the firm announced several further internal promotions. Shamillah Bankiya has been promoted to principal, having joined the firm in 2020 after spending two years as a senior associate with Softbank Investment Advisers.
Virginia Pozzato and Daniela Raffel have both been promoted to vice-president. Pozzato joined Dawn Capital from JP Morgan in 2018, while Raffel joined in 2020 from financial technology company Capital On Tap.
Dawn has also announced the appointment of Pierre Bricault, who joins from insurance technology firm Luko as an associate. Bricault is to focus on developing Dawn's investments in France, the firm said in a statement.
Further appointments announced concurrently include Josh Clift as a senior fund accountant, Kyriakos Souroulla as financial analyst, Alice Urquhart as office manager, and Chloe Dodson as a talent associate.
The firm's latest promotions and appointments follow the promotion of Mina Mutafchieva to partner and Evgenia Plotnikova to general partner in 2021.
Dawn Capital held a final close for its second late-stage fund, Dawn Opportunities Fund II, in July 2021 on USD 120m. It held a final close for Dawn Capital IV, its most recent early-stage fund, in July 2020 on USD 400m.
