
Circularity Capital hires new investment director

UK-based specialist private equity firm Circularity Capital has appointed Deanna Zhang as investment director.
Zhang previously was vice president at L-GAM, a private equity fund founded by former directors at Bain Capital and Investcorp in partnership with the Princely Family of Liechtenstein. She has a wealth of experienced in European mid-market buyout and growth investments across a range of sectors including consumer, business services, healthcare and industrials sectors, according to a press release. Previously Zhang held positions at 3i Group, Warburg Pincus and the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation. She served as investment manager for LGT Impact and a management consultant at the Boston Consulting Group.
Earlier this month, Circularity Capital exited UK-based ZigZag Global, a SaaS-enabled platform enabling retailers to manage e-commerce returns and exchanges internationally, to Global Blue, a Switzerland-based e-commerce company.
Circularity Capital, founded in 2015, invests in opportunities created by the circular economy in Europe. The sponsor usually focuses on businesses involved in maintenance, repair, refurbishment and remanufacturing, hire or leasing-based businesses, businesses with software, technology or processes that drive asset productivity, according to Unquote Data.
Circularity European Growth Fund, held a final close in January 2019 on GBP 60m. It invests between GBP 1m-GBP 5m in growth stage SMEs operating in the circular economy across Europe, according to Unquote Data.
The newest fund, Circularity European Growth Fund II was registered in June 2021 and is expected to follow the predecessor fund strategy. Rede Partners is acting as an advisor to the fundraising.
