Inflexion explores sale of Automotive Transformation Group
Automotive Transformation Groupтs (ATG) sponsor Inflexion has hired Houlihan Lokey to explore a sale of the UK-based automotive software solutions provider, two sources familiar with the situation said.
The business, which providers e-commerce, retention and renewal software solutions to the automotive sector, is expected to be marketed off annual EBITDA in the region of GBP 15m, according to both sources. A formal auction is slated to launch in 2H22, the first source added.
Inflexion has owned the company since April 2019, when it acquired UK-based data provider Autofutura, then combined it with Chrysalis Loyalty and GForces, two automotive software peers, to form ATG in April last year. (GCA Altium, now part of Houlihan Lokey, served as a financial advisor on the merger.) Then, in July 2021, ATG snapped up SalesMaster, another UK-based automotive software provider, expanding the firm's footprint.
Upon acquiring Autofutura, Inflexion installed David Riemenschneider – who serves as a senior M&A advisor to Houlihan Lokey – as chairman.
ATG's suite of software solutions and data platforms, which handles a transaction every 3.5 minutes, is designed to streamline the selling of cars via what it calls "vehicle cycle-management optimisation". ATG claims to integrate data, products, services and technology to connect car manufacturers, dealers and consumers efficiently. The company operates in a global market it says is worth USD 2.5trn.
Inflexion declined to comment. Houlihan Lokey did not respond to a request for comment.
