Warburg Pincus hires SAP exec to advise on tech
American private equity firm Warburg Pincus has hired Irfan Khan, an SAP executive, as a senior adviser to its technology group.
Khan spent the last ten years at the German software company, most recently as president of SAP HANA Database and Analytics, which stores and retrieves data requested by the applications.
Based in London, he will help Warburg Pincus identify new investment opportunities and help portfolio companies accelerate innovation and sales growth, said the GP.
The firm last year hired another SAP executive, Brian Duffy, from the position of president of cloud. Duffy's responsibilities at Warburg include helping portfolio companies accelerate innovation and digital transformation.
The GP says it invested over USD 30bn in technology businesses since it was founded in 1966.
Most recently in Europe, it led a USD 150m Series D round for Swiss barcode scanning software developer Scandit, and a USD 153m Series D for analytics platform Quantexa.
