FPE Capital bolsters investment team
UK-based FPE Capital has promoted Ben Cole to investment director and hired former BDO manager Harry Gill as investment manager.
Cole joined the software and services growth investor in 2019, leading the firm's origination activities. Prior to FPE, he was a TMT principal at Skillcapital, a company specialising in sourcing management teams for portfolio companies.

Gill joins FPE from BDO where he was a manager in the corporate finance team. During his four years at BDO, Gill assisted on vendor and financial due diligence to support UK and international transaction across an array of sectors with a particular focus on the technology and media sectors.
The developments to the team follow FPE's Fund III raise, which closed on GBP 185m in May 2022, according to Unquote Data. Following its predecessors strategy, the fund will focus on B2B software and services deals across the UK and Ireland. Its first platform deal was made in April 2022 with the acquisition of software developer Egress.
The vehicle has since made another investment, the acquisition of Palladia, a UK-based financial service software provider, announced last week.
In 2021, FPE made five exits, including UK-based IWSR, a data collector for the acholic drinks market. Four of the exits were from Fund II, at an average exit multiple of 3.9x, returning the whole fund and leaving seven further portfolio companies in the fund, according to a press release.
