DC adds to secondaries practice with former Mercury Global hire

Investment bank DC Advisory has announced that it has hired Sabina Sammartino as a managing director in its GP Secondaries team in London.
Sammartino spent eight years with private placements, asset management and secondary advisory firm Mercury Global Advisors prior to joining DC. In her role as partner, she assisted clients including Investcorp with the development of their private equity strategy. She also has previous experience with secondaries investor Paul Capital, as well as GE Equity and BNL-BNP Paribas.
DC Advisory launched its GP Secondaries practice in September 2022 with the hire of former Elm Capital executive Michael Wieczorek, as reported.
The firm hired former Jasmin Capital head of secondaries Ludovic Douge as a managing director in Paris last month, further expanding its GP-led secondaries team.
With continuation funds becoming an increasingly popular exit route for private equity sponsors, investment banks including Raymond James Cebile and Houlihan Lokey have been developing their offering in the area via acquisitions and new hires.
Although M&A activity for asset managers in the space has fallen, sponsors have remained active in adding secondaries capabilities to their roster. Recent deals in the space include Brookfield’s acquisition of the Private Equity Solutions division of asset manager DWS, as reported.
