Former Cambridge Associates MD joins Commonfund
Commonfund Capital has hired former Cambridge Associates managing director Miriam Schmitter as director at its London office.
She will focus on global manager research in private equity, venture capital and natural resources, particularly in Europe and Africa. She will also asist Commonfund's investment teams in other markets including Asia. Schmitter will also work on due diligence.
Prior to joining Commonfund, Schmitter was managing director and head of international private equity research at investment consulting firm Cambridge Associates. Based in its London office, she originally joined the firm's Boston office in 2005. She was responsible for research published by the firm on private equity funds, as well as supervising due diligence on investments.
Schmitter also worked at Allianz Private Equity Partners in New York and Munich as an investment manager, where she researched and selected private equity investment opportunities for the company, and at DB Capital Partners as an investment professional. She also served as a consultant at Deloitte & Touche, performing financial analysis and valuations, and conducting financial due diligence for clients.
