Altius's Warner joins Sail Capital
US sustainability-focused private equity firm Sail Capital Partners has hired Eric Warner, formerly of Altius Associates, as managing director.
The appointment is part of Sail's strategy to expand into Europe, the Middle East and Africa, following the opening of its new office in London.
The London office, labelled as a merchant banking operation, will support Sail in exiting its portfolio of 14 investments. Furthermore, Sail has formed a partnership with consultancy Frost & Sullivan, as it looks to source new deals in the EMEA region.
Warner joins from fund-of-funds Altius, where he was co-CEO and head of investor relations. Prior to joining Altius in January 2011, Warner was European head of private equity and M&A at Mercer. Previously he held senior positions at Societe Generale and NatWest Capital Markets.
Established in 2001, Sail targets investments in sustainable innovation, with a focus on energy and water technology companies.
