HgCapital appoints Maddison in new head of portfolio talent role
HgCapital has recruited Xeroxтs Tom Maddison to become head of portfolio talent, a position recently created by the buyout firm.
Maddison, who is expected to start in his new role in August, will relocate to the UK and work to promote talent both within HgCapital and alongside management in the GP's portfolio companies.
Prior to HgCapital, he spent more than 20 years at US printer manufacturer Xerox, where he held a number of roles in finance, business services, marketing and HR management.
In 2010, he was named corporate vice president and was then promoted to corporate senior vice president in 2012 and was also appointed chief human resources officer.
The appointment comes shortly after HgCapital acquired London-based visual effects software developer The Foundry from Carlyle Group. The tertiary buyout, which valued the business at £200m, took place six months after the company saw its mezzanine debt refinanced by Silicon Valley Bank.
Additional recent transactions by the GP include supporting portfolio company Visma in the acquisition of Danish software developers E-conomic and SpeedLedger, alongside KKR and Cinven, in May.
