MJ Hudson merges with MW Cornish
Alternative asset-focused boutique law firms MJ Hudson and MW Cornish have combined their private equity and hedge funds practices.
The newly combined entity, known as MJ Hudson, will focus on providing legal services to the alternative assets industry.
The merged firm will comprise more than 30 lawyers in offices in London and Jersey, with plans to open offices in Hong Kong and other offshore destinations in 2014.
MJ Hudson was established in 2010 by Matthew Hudson, formerly a founding member of the SJ Berwin private equity group. MW Cornish was re-established by Martin Cornish in 2012 – the firm had previously merged with US firm Katten Muchin Rosenman back in 2005.
