Investec funds 2M’s acquisition of ChlorVinyls arm
Investec Growth and Acquisition Finance has provided follow-on funding to client 2M Group for the acquisition of the packed chlorine branch of ChlorVinyls.
ChlorVinyls, a business operating under the brand of chemical manufacturer Ineos, has sold the assets of its packed chlorine branch, including its Runcorn site in Cheshire but excluding the branch's current staff, to 2M. ChlorVinyl's packed chlorine staff will be contracted to work for 2M following the acquisition.
Investec first backed 2M in March 2012 as part of a management buyout with the company's chairman, Mottie Kesler. The bank then provided funding for 2M's acquisition of Northampton-based KMZ Chemicals in July 2012.
2M Group is the parent company of Runcorn-headquartered Banner Chemicals and Leeds-based Surfachem. The group holds offices in the UK as well as Belgium and Poland.
