Vision's Cortas promoted to partner
London- and New York-based private equity firm Vision Capital has promoted Samer Cortas to partner.
Cortas has worked at Vision since October 2010 and was previously a principal at the firm. His role at Vision includes global responsibility for financing across the firm's portfolio.
Deals that Cortas has worked on for the firm include the financing of UK-based hydraulic hose replacement company Pirtek Europe, UK-based cake producer Park Cake and UK-based savoury pastries producer Pork Farms, as well as the high-yield bond transactions for consumer electronics and white goods retailer BrightHouse and Italian glass and plastic manufacturer Bormioli Rocco.
Prior to joining Vision, Cortas spent 12 years working in leveraged finance. He co-founded debt advisory firm Blenheim Advisors, which provides advice to European companies on Indian market entry and due diligence. Blenheim was acquired by US investment bank Houlihan Lokey in 2007.
Before co-founding Blenheim, Cortas worked at CIBC World Markets in the leveraged finance team.
Last week saw Vision's former operating partner Johan Van de Steen join Strategic Value Partners as senior operating professional. Van de Steen had also acted as Vision's head of the portfolio management committee.
