Morgan Stanley bolsters London PE team
Morgan Stanley has hired Frederik Wijsenbeek as an executive director in its London-based Global Private Equity team.
Wijsenbeek has fifteen years' investment experience in the US and Europe, and was previously at multi-family office Global Family Partners (GFP) as an investment partner.
Between February 2010 and January 2012, Wijsenbeek was the head of private equity at Canadian pension fund Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. He was responsible for the investment in Acorn Care and Education in the UK and focused on the business services, financial services, education and healthcare and leisure sectors. He subsequently became director before leaving to join GFP in April 2013.
Wijsenbeek was a partner at Englefield Capital – now Bregal Capital – between 2003 and 2009. While at the fund, he led European deal sourcing and was involved in six completed investments, including Equity Insurance Group and Canopius.
He began his career at Securitas Capital, a private equity joint venture between Swiss Re and Credit Suisse, as an associate vice president. He initially worked in New York, before moving to the London office in 2002.
