Kernel to manage Bank of Ireland MedTech fund
An Irish seed fund, the тЌ10m Bank of Ireland MedTech Accelerator Fund, has been launched by Kernel Capital.
The vehicle focuses on indigenous start-up life sciences companies that operate in the medical device, diagnostics or medical/laboratory sectors, with investments ranging from €100,000 to €500,000. Co-investors include the National University of Ireland (NUI) Galway, Enterprise Ireland and University of Limerick Foundation.
The fund will operate in parallel with Bank of Ireland Seed and Early Stage Equity fund, an information communications and technology vehicle also managed by Kernel Capital, as well as with Seroba Kernel Like Science Fund, which typically invests in €2-5m later-stage projects.
