New placement agent Northern Lights Alternative Advisors launches
Northern Lights Capital Group has acquired London-based private placement firm Buick Capital Partners, which will be rebranded as Northern Lights Alternative Advisors (NLAA).
The renamed company will expand Northern Lights' distribution and strategic capabilities in the UK and Europe.
Buick was founded in 2009 by managing directors Timothy Morgan and Dominic Trusted. Morgan is the former co-head of capital introduction and a managing director at Goldman Sachs. Trusted was in charge of the fixed income capital markets for UK financial institutions at Morgan Stanley from 2006.
In 2009 Northern Lights first invested in the UK, where it has since sought more permanent representation.
In addition to its existing placement and advisory business, NLAA will begin consulting at The Accelerator Fund, a hedge fund acceleration vehicle co-managed by Northern Lights and Hermes BPK.
Northern Lights invests in boutique asset managers.
