LDC adds three directors to UK transactions team
Mid-market specialist LDC has added investment directors Steve Phillips, Victoria Marcer and Tanya Thompson to its UK-based transaction team.
Phillips, who will be based at LDC's London office, began his career at KPMG, first as an accountant and then private equity associate. In 2002, he left for LGV Capital; as a director, he oversaw deal origination and execution for the GP.
Marcer, who will work out of LDC's Nottingham office, also started her career as an accountant. Between 1999-2015, she was part of PwC, first within the firm's Birmingham team and then as a London-based corporate finance director for 12 years.
Thompson will work within the value enhancement team, which works alongside portfolio companies to boost shareholder value and expand the firm's partnership network. Prior to LDC, she held a consultant role at Stroud International and was then hired by BP, where she focused on the oil and gas sector for the past two years.
The wave of appointments follows an active few weeks for LDC. The GP has been busy both on the sell-side – it reaped 2.4x on the £125m sale of Bifold to Rotork in late August – and the buy-side, after supporting MBOs for shower manufacturer Aqualisa and publisher PEI Media Group in September.
